another ancient analogue image of my late sister who was posing for me in an exhibition while I used a funny little diffusion lens on the camera…it goes with this one …. ...

She looks so intense and beautiful Juilee – these 2 portraits of her feel so real and alive! What a wonderful way to have captured her, and her essence…Kinda like the diffusion lens really let her shine through!K x
thanks Kallena… and these are such old images yet I’ve never printed them or show them before so it’s nice to get a good response as well….. and that little filter was the bomb… I loved it to bits…. :)
wow, amazing :o)
thanks heaps Mark…they were taken a real long time ago and it just doesn’t seem to make any difference…. I’m glad you like them
I feel such a sense of loss to see these images, and I don’t know why! Love the rainbow filter, perhaps it’s that filter that gives me such a melancholy feel….
thanks Mel … I get reminded of of how brilliant she was it intensifys that loss over time I think… anyway it’s nice to be able to show the pictures and share somehow…..
lovely and lovely for you to find them Juilee. are these scanned from negs or trannies? and what camera did you have this funny lens on? how old was she here?
hi Soxy and thanks … and these are slide film… the colours are pure after more than 25 years sitting around… I can’t believe I’ve never done anything with them before….. and it’s wasn’t a lens but a filter that I hand held infront of the lens… I loved it
Ok, so you know I don’t normaly just drop in with a bit of fluff, but these images left me a little lost for a suitable comment. This seems to be analogue work preceding the digital age, people are trying, and failing to replicate images like these with photoshop, and you have done it so well with film. You got skills ;-))
hi Mark and thanks heaps… there are a couple more in this series…. and actually I kind of agree about digital seeming to want to look like old film images… there is a kind of vouge for it at the moment…..
and my skills aren’t that remarkable but maybe it’s just that I’ve always been willing to take a few risks and waste a bit of film… but whatever I’m glad you are enjoying these…..:)
What can I say, I’m a fan…
ahh shucks I’m blushing now….:)
so intense… so beautiful
hi again and thanks again Tara… really glad you like these…..:)
