Some of the councils of the innerwest suburbs of Sydney have a very tolerant attitude towards street art and a sophisticated understanding of the differences between graffiti and art…. and that can make for a very vibrant and exciting street scape… like this fabulous hiphop mural on the side of a rundown two story shop in the suburb of Petersham…. it was done by a friend of mine who goes by the name of Mistery when he is painting….and shot with slide film which I’ve just scanned
street art, juilee pryor, slide film, so cool, mr e, painted, graffiti, sydney, portrait, blackandwhite, men, film, mono, analouge, mistery, petersham, black and white, wall art

Great shot, Juilee. It’s wonderful the way you chronicle Sydney street life. Gives those of us who don’t live there a different look at Australia.
hey thanks Pat although I would suspect that this shot could quite reasonably be taken in Canada or the States or even the UK as well… graffitti and this style of street art is kind of global….. and it’s happening all over the world…. which is cool I think…..:)

Yes, and it amazes me how universal it is. Unselfconsciously universal.
indeed we are much more alike than different no matter where we live on this beautiful blue planet….

Great shot, I love seeing your city’s art work any plans for making a book about it?
