I’ve been sitting here scanning more of the never ending back catalouge of old negatives and came across this random bit of street life… and I had to laugh… it’s the perfect counterpoint to one of Helen’s great early masterpeices… My Red Boobies… which sadly I can no longer find in her portfolio… but hey it was pretty unforgettable in that quiet and restrained sort of way she has when she want’s to make a point… so Helen this one is for you….

I do so wish that skinny women wouldn’t get boob jobs that are disproportionate-this girl looks franly ridiculous and I can almost guarantee that she’ll have back trouble, in later life.

haha… yes indeed… it was suposed to be an invitation to do aerobics but if that was the body you were going to get out of it… well frankly why bother…. think I’d rather go without to be honest..oh well still it made me laugh when I found it….:)

hi DragonFlyer….do you remember the original peice from Helen? it was a real crack up at the time and also a pertinent comment on all the boobage manifesting it’s self as ‘art’ here at RB…. look I thought it was funny…. but I’m odd like that…. shame she hasn’t got it in her portfolio anymore…. :)

No Juilee – I don’t. I think it must have been from before I joined RB… but I’ve been a very dedicated follower of Helen’s work and writings ever since I found her – I do know she was very ‘vocal’ (and visual) re the ‘booby art’ and I really enjoy seeing all she comes up with as she researches everything and backs up all her arguments so thoroughly :)))
yes it was quite early on… and it was basically this stick figure with huge boobies almost exactly like above and that was her tongue in cheek answer to all the soft porn style images that were just starting to become so prominent here…. it was pretty funny at the time to be honest…. :)

hiya Helen… so glad you brought the boobies back but isn’t memory a funny thing… I could have sworn they were blue…. oh well and hey it’s all just for a laugh… personally I really love the graffitti on the artwork….. and I couldn’t help myself when I remembered your original boobies….. life is funny sometimes…. and the things you see on the street are the sweetest parts of the day sometimes…..:)
