yesterday I attemped to have a conversation with someone about what consitutes a ‘real photographer’. rather that respond he reacted by telling me I’m a negative psyhco bitch, the only bad thing about Redbubble and should hurry out to buy razor blades and kill myself. no shit!

I guess this means I’ll never be a ‘real photographer’ so to celebrate my freedom from the label of ‘real’ I’ve decided to concentrate on posting some UNREAL photographs. Here’s the first.

This is a chance shot taken while someone slept in the set of an alternative theatre production some years ago. Vale Peter your real to me still though you are no longer real in a corporeal sense.

    What an image! Fantastic capture.

I am of the opinion to leave subjects like what constitutes a ‘real photographer’ and ‘is that art’ well alone. I believe that art and creativity is way too subjective to quantify.

for a chance shot you did great… I love it’s sparsity but it’s all enclosed as well sleeping under that skull on the floor must have induced some pretty far out dreaming… cool stuff juilee

thanks every body. Judith I would have liked a conversation about the subject but got a death threat instead. Oh well no point going there again. I’m glad you find this an interesting image. It was an interesting time to be honest.

I tend to agree – especialy on a site like this where most things are taken out of context, are amplified and / or taken personally – shame really.

I like the spontenaity of this image, its documentary elements, and of course its photgraphic quality ;))

wow thanks everybody. I was somewhat rock by yesterdays response but no point in chasing abuse. This shot is acutally about the way life cuts through art and arrives at the same place in the end. Chance will do that to an image.

Thanks Kathleen and Robert. I appreiciate your comments and support in being free to post what is real to me. Life is real to me and as an artist rather than a photograher I have to chase life in order to make art that means anything. Like jemimalovesb says….. art and creativity are way too subjective to quantify. Which is just like life.
