most mornings I get up early and walk down to the sea to bath in the extraordinary light and watch the sun come up over the Pacific Ocean….. sometimes I just watch the day come to life but sometimes I swim in the dawn light and then go home all sandy and goosebumps to drink some tea and read the newspaper….it’s my own private churchy type thing and this small series of shots from this morning are being uploaded so you can share that experience…..
this is the next in my little series of morning shots….. this is just minutes before the sun makes it’s appearance over the horizen and as you can see everybody worships in their own way….this young surfer bows gracefully to the gods of the water before walking to the end of the walkway and diving in to the surf and paddling out to greet the sun…..
This is my favourite.. i love the silhouette… It looks so lovely and warm.
hi raae… it’s really early…. obviously it’s before the dawn… but the water is like silk…. 21.7 degrees C this morning…. um do you do C or should I convert that for you to F….? anyway it’s like a tepid salty bath……. glorious really really something else to be in the water and watch the sun come up….. 25 years in the bowels of the inner city and now my life is reduced to this…. sheesh….. :)

ok….21.7 C is 71.06 F…. so not cold by any stretch of the imagination
I can’t remember the last time I got to experience that… You’ve made me decide that when im closer to the coast again im going to make an effort to get up early and go to the beach :)
I’m Australian so im all about the degrees C! Coming home in a couple of weeks actually!! Hoping that i haven’t missed all of the summer..
oi oi oi…. you be an aussie as well…. super I knew I liked you lots…. :)
and yes indeed treat your self to a morning on the beach watching the god given light fill the day and set it sailing …. it’s so good for the soul
Very nice picture… beautiful. I am jealous. The Pacific is very cold here. Not good for swimming unless it’s hot out… which doesn’t happen at the coast too often. Sounds lovely.
hi Zoltan and thanks heaps…. it’s actualy the last day of summer here…. although it will be hot for a while yet…. till easter at least … even then the water will be warm for some months to come….. and it is very lovely to watch the sun rise or set over water…. very special…..
