sometimes I get up real early in the morning and go and watch the sun come up over the ocean…. sometimes all I get is very tired by the afternoon and sometimes I get to see the sky on fire…. shot with fujichrome 400 at around 5.30am or so one morning down on my local beach …. and this is straight from the scanner and is totally untouched by any Adobe product…the colour it is is the colour it was

Such a warm and inviting image! (says Helen who is freezing her bum off in the bitter cold winds of the American Midwest winter)

  • Helen you have a standing invite to come and sit on the beach and moan about the damned heat just like most of the rest of the country right now…. :)

I’m glad that missing film turned up!!!!! It’s amazing!!!!!

  • yes indeed… I’m scanning it all today.. and there is an embarassment of riches within the two rolls…. I’m so glad I kept harassing the lab about it….. nearly four months to get them to find it but so worth the wait….. thanks :)

Every roll of lost film is worth harassing someone about. Especially good stuff like this!

Wow Juilee – this is stunning. What amazing light! I want to leave the snow that I have been dying to see here now – and come to this place.

  • you know what Jules… if you could do a little swap that would be so good…. I could send you enough of this strength sapping heat for you to put your cold toes in and warm yourself up a bit and you can send me enough snow for me to put my face in for a few moments every twenty minutes or so….wouldn’t that be wonderful……:)

Retina burn…. I need sunnies to view this JP! Stunning.

  • amazing the colours of nature hey… this is exactly as it was… no editing no saturation to the max…. just clicky clicky with the battered old camera and fire from heaven…. sometimes when I’m trolling the beaches around here at dawn… I get all overwhelmed by it…. moments like this only last a moment or two and then it’s all diffused by the day and the rising sun and it’s gone….. sunrise by the sea…. life’s tough at times….. :)
