legless lifesaver by

Some times I take photos just because I really truly can’t help myself. Like when I saw this hardworking beachworker one day while I strolled along the Manly Corso. We actually really love our lifesavers over here…. and a lot of our beaches are pretty wild places… so we need them as well….. but some times they are just sooooo chilled out while they work…… like this guy….. but can you imagine how numb his bum would have been by the end of his shift???

well then stainless steel should be put back to mother nature. where it belongs.
look the guys half dead anyway, just leave him on the sand.. let nature do its thing. we can then say its a circle of life thingy.

Wonder how he would have gone in the “split” second after realising he had to respond to a rescue :)

  • hi Peter…. he looks funny but he is actually watching that water really intently….. he would have been fine I reckon…… he may have gone into the water trailing bits of the pavement that got to firmly wedged in a particular spot but he would have been fine……. I hope……:)

What a perfect shot – I would say by his pose, he is ultimately reasy to go into action. Yes he is relaxed, but not relaxed in that she is sitting down, where he would have to work to get up and get moving [like in a deckchair or something]. His legs are straight, ready for action, no stiffness to overcome. He can just roll off that poll, yet he is rested, so no fatigue to get over – As I see it – ready to pounce. Excellent Juilee.

  • hey thanks heaps Julie….. and it was just a totallly chance capture and you are so right…. he is as relaxed as a polar bear waiting for a seal to suface….. his eyes are on the water and nothing else… he could spring up from his ungainly pose in be in the surf in no time flat….. don’t be fooled……. thanks for looking and for seeing…….:)

Great shot, Juilee. But, he looks really uncomfortable to me. Makes my tail bone hurt to look at it. Maybe he’s doing it to rest his feet and keep alert at the same time.
