big sky little hill ..........daniland
This is my last big/little image upload of Infrared landscapes from the daniland series of photographs. This mysterious little scene was shot very early one morning before the heavy enveloping fog had been burnt off by the approaching heat of the day. The fog has shrouded these little trees so densely that if seems like a magical and mysterious scene from a sci-fi movie shot somewhere on an another planet. Walking through the heavy fog in this beautiful heavily forested area is certainly an amazing and magical experince and this particular photo comes as close the the reality of how that feels.

gee thanks circus… thats such a wonderful thing to say…..walking through this country side in the heavy swirling fog is just something else to be honest…its like you just can’t quite work out were you are….even when you know were you are…... thanks heaps…....:)
Julie Langford
Another beautiful Fangorn here Juilee – I am sitting here looking at it – just waiting for the Oliphant to come over the hill and an Ent to walk out from the mist – this is freakin awesome.
Juilee Pryor replied
gee thanks Julie…. there are cows and wombats and wallaby that live in this forest and they are like shadows in the distance…. you can hear them but can’t quite see them in the fog…. which would infact be like the experience of being in a magical forest like Fangorn…. I can imagine it to be like that any way…..thanks for being able to imagine that as well…..:)
dinghysailor1
this is superbly atmospheric ! wonderful work! love it!
Juilee Pryor replied
thanks dingysailor…. I wondered if these latest IR shots might be a little too subtle to read well on the screen but it seem as if the atmosphere is coming aross …..so glad you like this shot…...:)

Juilee Pryor replied

This is amazing. I really like the feel you’ve created in this image. Well done Juilee.
Juilee Pryor replied
thanks RikW… I really really love working with IR film… it has so much depth and such complexity… tricky to use… and really hard to find these days as well but it effort is so worth it… really glad to find you like this…. cheers
RikW
Well it’s tuely worth the effort. This to me is more like a dreamscape than a landscape.
Forgive my political stance will you. I can be quite an opinionated boy at times lol.
I for one would like to suggest that just like Religion and War. Politics and Art should never walk the same path, yet often do in this mad world we live.
Juilee Pryor replied
I was alway partial to an opinionated boy…. :(
and yes it’s more like a dreamscape… when I shoot with IR I shoot with my eyes closed and an dense opaque filter on the camera… I can’t see what I’m shooting and I can’t calibrate for the settings and seriously… I have to just pretend I’m a blind photograher and feel for the image… it’s moody and difficult and dreamy and delicious… and I know DSLR’s can be converted but the best results come from film… sad but true…. and they no longer make the damned stuff…. sheesh….. oh well….. :)
