thanks Patricia and salsbells69. Way back when I first shot this I made it into a teeshirt and it sold heaps and interestingly mostly men bought it. That always amused me but thinking about it more analytically I realise that there is something profoundly feminine and utterly human in her gesture of quickly and lightly checking to see if the girls were still in place after surfacing.

I’m so glad she has lost nothing in the years since she last was available to be seen by the wider public.

What a brilliant shot this is Juilee – the way you’ve framed her in the bottom right of the frame on the edge of leaving it, the top-down perspective emphasising the “earth-mother” quality to her shape and the contrast provided by the delicacy of the water ripples is just outstanding.
This is fine art photography at its best I think.

She’s a beautiful Mama, I agree with you! I used to know a dear, dear woman like your ‘mama lady’ She didn’t realize it, I’m sure, but when she stood, her breasts went all the out to the palms of her hands when she bent her elbows in a 90 degree angle, and often stood with her hands sheltering the ends of them. We were to call her Mardi Dear- if we forget the “Dear” part, our ears would get tugged till they were red. Oh, I have so much to write about—going to have to do a “Writing” on Jack and Mardi! Thank you for reminding me of these lovely, eccentric, humerous people, Juilee!
