summer garden ..... agapantha blue

summer in my garden and all is lush and verdant… rainbow lorikeets feasting on foliage outside my window and the sound of the surf a block or two from my back door while a little cloud drifts over the cliffs in front of me…..so I’ve been working on some images of the somewhat more mundane blooms around me at the moment…. like the humble agapantha in bloom everywhere at the moment….such a common plant and yet it is a truely extraordinary thing…. the circular head of the plant is a ball of tiny bell shaped blossoms in either white or mauve and they stand proud about a metre tall from the strappy dark green leaves at the base of the plant….

compared to some of the more extragant foliage in bloom at the moment it may seem perverse to focus on such an common and unremarkable flower but I want to try and present it as something elegant and lovely…..
