doppleganger...the deeper name

hey thanks Mel… it’s really just an existentialist mind game I waste time with….you know… if you weren’t really you …. who would you be…. and were would you live in the whole universe and beyond…...and how would you know you were you unless you just knew it…..

thanks Rhana… sometimes I don’t know what I’m really thinking about till I make the work…. I have some interesing variations on this one as well …. do you think this is unusual? don’t you ever feel like you have a deeper name?

hi Andy… well sometimes you just have to say what you think… and I think in pictures… so even if it doesn’t really make total sense… it’s what I was thinking about…. which has it’s own mysterious logic sometimes but still that’s what it is…...

hi Andrew…. yes I know I can be a bit confusing at times but the job of an artist is to reveal the sense in the mysterious….me fiddling about with pictures like this one is just a way to try and explain something that I can’t really explain otherwise…. if that exlaination is not in itself too confusing…..glad you like the image though…..:)

hi Pat and thanks…. and its so good to know that my ramblings are adding to your experience of the image…. we all have access to our deeper selves but mostly we fill up our lives with such clutter and distractions that we can’t hear those little angel voices anymore…..

and sorry it’s taken me so long to get back to you as well… I’ve been offline for a while due to moving house and converting to wireless broadband and all that sort of stuff….. but I’m really glad you like this…..:)

Hi there Geraldine… I like your question…. I somehow don’t think we are meant to remember our deeper selves…. that would sort of defeat the purpose of having many lives and many challenges that aid our development as beings of light…. but still … I have some little floating rememberences from time to time….like a persistant sense of another deeper older name… which I can’t remember…. really glad you like this Geraldine….. I have a few more in this vein… same model different poses and outfits … same hat in every shot though…I do like my funny hats…. :)

isn’t a cardinal a little red breasted bird? or a bloke in a big red robe and a funny hat or somesuch thing…..I was thinking some sort of scholarly type of person with a thing for strange hats and not wearing shoes …... anyway why not….. I’ll go along with what ever is going on in your mind…... so sure….:)

hi amanda…. and yes the paintings….. ok maybe one day…. I’ve just been into the studio and wandered about kicking at old canvas’s and boards… flicking a few brushes and having a little squeeze of a few tubes of oil paint… thinking… I need some undercoat…. hmmmm… might be getting ready to do some painting….. which could be interesting… make a real change from all the scanning and PS work I’ve been doing of late….. one day…. :)

thanks Kirrill…. this is one of my more thoughtful peices…. I thought about it and it means something to me…. it’s about how I really think and feel…. not a popular image by any stretch as reading my rationale most likely makes people twitch and think…. weirdo….. what planet is she on….. but hey it’s what I think….. and also I was quite pleased with the digital hand colouring …... thank you again… you seem to be able to look and to see at the same time….. not every body can do that to be honest….. oh well…...
