Landscape for Piet Mondrian #1

I’ve been posting some new works lately that I’ve made for an exhibition at Parliment House in Sydney next week. I’ve previously posted a series of double landscapes and while I’ve been doing that I started to experiment with a new technique of digital handcolouring. I’ve applied that new concept…. well new to me anyway…. to a large pair of infrared landscapes and have gone a bit wild with it….. and that’s cool ….. I’m excited by the new stark look of these prints and will post these new work first singlely and then at they will look as a pair. Each print is A1 in size and they have been matted with very nice stippled leather matts and then framed in a glossy jet black box frame. Each framed print is 105 cms by 77 cms and they hang together to create another broken landscape…. somewhat similar to the doubled muted landscapes I’ve been posting lately but seriously different as well….. stark, elegant and owing more than a nod to Modernism in their inception.

I can’t wait till next week when I’ll be able to see them hung for the first time….... meanwhile these screen shots will need to suffice …...

hi Jemima…. and thanks… these works came about so quickly due to the deadline and I haven’t had any time to just look at them… and framed they are just delicious….. I’d just love it if you could see them in real life… the screen shots just don’t do them justice…. but hey it’s still good to share them and get some feedback….. I’m so glad you can feel the excitement I’m feeling in regard to this new work….. and I’m extra glad you like them…. it’s a whole new way forward for me…... analouge in the front end and digital out the back end…. I’m liking that a lot…....:)

Wonderful opportunity, and do I say “Break a leg” like they do when you go on stage? Or just Good luch I hope you sell a million!?

  • Juilee Pryor replied

Hi Dayonda…. not sure is break a leg is quite the thing but it sure made me smile reading it….. and funnily enough I’ve got a feeling that they will do OK…. it always seems to be the cast that when I make new work really quickly and have no time to fuss with it ….. it will sell ….anyway that’s my theory and I’m sticking to it…...:)
