Pinhole Bones #3..... composite
another pinhole photograph to go with this one and this one
This image is a composite of two paper negatives from a 5×7 inch by photo paper box. I’ve placed both negatives on to one sheet of 10×8 inch b/w paper and made a contact print and then scanned it on my flatbed in order that I could upload it here. Both of these images were hand held exposures for fifteen seconds in bright sun which is why they are so soft….... anyway enjoy coz I sure had fun making these photographs.

He seems dreamy, like we’re seeing his daydream. Maybe he’s contemplating going out that door? Or maybe he just came in to say something to us. I really, really like it a lot! It’s really wonderful.
Juilee Pryor replied
thanks heaps for your wonderful comment…. and I love the idea that the skeleton is having a daydream….. :)
Antanas
Beautiful work
Juilee Pryor replied

I think skeletons have gotten a bad rap!
Juilee Pryor replied
hey Craig…. yes I like the way the Mexicans use skeletons in a joyful sort of way….. they certainly are so typecast in the rest of the world…...:)
Craig Schroeder
Yeah, I feel sort of protective of the skeletons. Because we’re all skeletons deep down inside. :
) “Your” skeletons remind me of that because look so alive though you didn’t make them act in hokey Halloweeny ways -- you know, the macabre dancing and all that!Juilee Pryor replied
even a model skeleton needs some dignity…... and they don’t have to be macarbe either…..these two do look alive though but that is more to do with camera shake I think…..oh well…..:)
Melanie Dooley
When we are skeletons, we are all basically the same.
None of the ostentatious embellishment humans aspire to.
This is why we like skeletons.
It reminds us of our sameness.
Juilee Pryor replied
hi Mel…. yes there is no disguising our common humanity when its down to bones…... and that is not a bad thing…..:)

MuscularTeeth
im serious. hey your a really good photo person thingy.. what would be a cheap slr camera to get?
Juilee Pryor replied
hey can I put that on the back of a book I might do some time in the future…. it’s great.. it just sum it all up nicely…...:)
Juilee Pryor replied
oh and maybe stick to the big four… Minolta Olympus Nikon and Pentax….. you should be able to get a good second hand one of these with maybe another lens or so for around $500 I’d say…..
the photos above were taken with an empty cardboard box so that was even cheaper…...:)
MuscularTeeth
sure can, but make sure you put who it came from, just to make it more confusing for everyone concerned. they’ll think im some dental company.
Juilee Pryor replied
haha….. yes I’m looking forward to that bit….. :)
MuscularTeeth
how do you take photos with empty cardboard boxes? i mean how’d you pump the vacuum in ? (lol).
i have an olympus c770 now, ill stay with that then as it done good so far.. cheers o wise woman.
Juilee Pryor replied
the little olympus sounds fine…. and pinhole photo’s…. you’d love it … it’s very eccentric and fun and also very frustrating as well….. :)

Hey. I just finished a class not 20 minutes ago in which we were using pinhole cameras. man it’s fun! my first on didn’t turn out, it was just black, but my second one went pretty well apart from the 12 minute exposure time which got me frustrated. although I find the actual processing really fun!
nice shot(s) by the way!
