The view from Tony's place
Well I started the day with by taking down ten pages of pictures….. yep count them…. ten pages….... whoo hooo…... and then posted an image taken with my wonderful little Holga of the local coastline and showing a tiny bit of the Seacliff bridge which has got to be one of the most amazing bridges in the country… and we do bridges pretty darned well in this country….... anyway I digress…... so I thought I post another bridge picture…..I figure you all will know were this bridge is…....:)
Anyhow a very dear friend…. a man with copious supplies of money but no actual common sense had a sweet little pad right on the foreshore of Lavender Bay and this was the view from his front veranda…...so sweet….... we used to kick back there on the hammock and chill on the view and whatever else it is that aids and abets chillin…..... :)
this shot was taken about fifteen years ago and I had totally forgotten about it but from time to time I try and continue what may turn into my lifes work…. digitzing boxes and boxes of analouge capture…. that means film…. from a lifetime spent snapping anything and everything…... the colour in this is the way it scanned and I like it…. it looks like a memory and that is exactly what it is to me…. a memory of a wild and wonderful time…...

Juilee Pryor replied
hey thanks Marinella.,..... and yes a very pretty nice view hey… only thing is that this is a working harbour so it is sooooo noisy….. like you wouldn’t believe….. I never remember actually sleeping much there…....:)

What a nice pad ‘Tony’ has…............a lovely image of a famous landmark(s)..............
Juilee Pryor replied
I have some really nice memory’s of the ‘boatshed’...... :)
Maxhamish
The ‘Boatshed’ being the name of the mansion I guess?????
Juilee Pryor replied
yes actually it was origianaly a boat shed and repair place and had been there from the first days so right in the middle of this national park forshore with this amazing view is this little walled of house/shed thingy with a boat ramp and eleven moorings…. he couldn’t get any insurance for it at all… and the council hated it…. they kept telling him …. if it burns down you can’t rebuild….... and he never did it up …. just kept it as very hippy style boatshed…. he had a houseboat and a dingy and what not ….and access to an amazingly huge family fortune…... this funny little pad was worth five mill some fifteen years ago and you almost had to go outside to change your mind it was so tiny….. small but sweet if you know what I mean…... mad as a cut snake our Tony…... but very sweet….:) my sort of person…. known a few like him in my time…...

wow look at that green. amazing colours in this Juilee.
Juilee Pryor replied
thanks jem…. some film keeps better than others…. this was probably $2 film that I got really cheap in bulk from somewhere dodgy and then let it ‘mature’ for fifteen years in a cardboard box…... in this case it seems to have worked but you don’t want to know what some of the others look like…... opps…...:)

Keep scanning Juilee. I love the diversity that keeps coming out of those boxes.
I’ve been doing much the same, boxes & boxes and yet more boxes….
Juilee Pryor replied

butchart

Juilee Pryor replied
take my word for it…. this guy was one of the best….... mad as…but really generous….its his gold roller in this shot at one of his other places ‘the graffitti hall of fame’.... the other gold roller was his sisters…... only really good mates let you lounge around on their gold rolls royes and stuff like that….. he thought I was nuts and I thought he was nuts and so we got on like a house on fire….. what can I say…...:)
butchart

tony has a great view nice work
Juilee Pryor replied
hi Alan…. yes Tony was and is totally nuts but he had a great view…..:)
David McLean
you’ll be happy to know Juilee that tony still lives there, we live close by and often see him.
yes, the Council still give him a hard time all these years later.
Juilee Pryor replied
how amazing to think that people could know who I mean just from one name….. mind you he is a fairly unforgettable sort of person….... and he give the council just as hard a time as they give him….. he ran for mayor of north sydney a couple of times….. can you believe that! I find it so funny…... the whole suburb would have been covered in gaffitti and hippies in no time flat…... give him a big hello from me next time you see him…. he is a genuine legend our Tony…...:)
David McLean
yes its a small world sometimes. The Council would never be the same again if Tony was Mayor. hahaha
we’d love to pass on your Hello
Juilee Pryor replied
yes do that he knows me well… me and my three boys…... he was one of the backers that allowed the Martin Luther King mural on King st Newtown to happen….. and I was involved in that…...
David McLean
oohh Wow !! thats awesome Juilee
Paul Manning

Juilee Pryor replied
Hey thanks Paul….. and yes the colours are somehow so sort of old in this image…....makes it not quite what you expect in a picture of the Opera House…...
Rosina Lamberti
