sitting in the train going into town and at one of the stations on route another train pulled up right beside me…... lucky I had my little russian lomo in my bag…..... best little failed spy camera in the whole world…... it’s so tiny it will sit in your top pocket and barely make a bulge…... and it takes 35 mm film which is one of my favourite methods of capture in the whole world….. ahhh film and failed spy camera’s…...:)

Juilee, I suspect your very being is inately a camera, if not your soul, and that, should you wish to “focus” your inner energy, an image from it will transmogrify onto the screen.

  • Juilee Pryor replied

ha ha….. yes I am a camera…... sometimes I pretend to be blind photographer to see if I can just sense an image without actualy have to look for it…... :) and I don’t really discriminate…. I’ll use anything to make a photo with…... doesn’t bother me to be honest…... it’s all intrequing being able to catch light in little boxes….... such a lovely thing for you to say Peter…....:))

hey thanks you….. its an odd vantage point when your on a train….. if another train pulls up next to you and then it starts to move slowly it can sometimes feel like its’ your train that’s moving….. very disorienting somehow….. :)

Actually Juilee, it’s a joy for me to be “exposed” to such an intensely photographic life such as yours. Anyone going to the trouble of accessing your gallery in depth cannot fail but be soaked by the sheer range of visual possibilities you aptly and descriptively exhibit. I am enlivened every time I read of yet another type of camera, far removed from the commercial behemoths we plebians lust after, that, if we each took the time and effort to “grasp” hold within them a whole other world of Photography. So, my comment above was simply my immediate reaction to this particular image and description. Basically, you rock girl !

shucks now I’m blushing like mad…..... did I ever mention that I paint as well…... ? well as well….. don’t always play well with the other kiddies in the sandpit though….. oh well you can’ t have everything….. and actually its not photography per se….. its light that floats my boat…. cameras are just an easy way to play with light….. and the search for light is a continuation of the alchemists search for the magic of turning base metals in to gold…. so El Dorardo I guess or How the Light Gets In….. Leonard Cohen’s got a really good song by that name that I relate to well…...

and hey your not to shabby with a camera yourself you know…... :) thanks for your kind words though….. its helping the cold feel a bit less awful….....

Hey, hit the reply button…I thought you were being rude and not responding…...I agree with the sensation of adjacent things moving, can really freak you out…...........Forgot to mention…the fact I had to sit for a while to work the image out is a good thing in my book….One of the images I selected amongst my nine for the ‘feature page’ by M Randell did the same to me, but that one took me days to work out, I thought it was shot through the bottom of a glass jar….hope this makes sense….having a couple of Charrdies tonight…......

  • Juilee Pryor replied

hey yourself…. no I’m not intentionally rude…. well not that often…. don’t know why that didn’t go to you…. it was meant to…... and hmmmm I’ll go and find that M Randell shot and have another look…. sounds intrequeging….hope the wine is nice…. I’m having a nice cab sav…... yummy…....:)

Great image Juilee. It is sooo dynamic and fluid at the same time. The ping of light from the coupling is extraordinary.

  • Juilee Pryor replied

hey doco….thanks…. yes the light shining on the coupling….. so shiny and perfectly aligned…... thanks heaps for noticing that…. I like to layer things in my works….... “)

Nice abstract image and perspective (I gotta get me a digital equivalent to one of these!!)

  • Juilee Pryor replied

hey berndt2… so glad you like this…. and I think the point of little eccentric cameras like this …... is that they don’t have a digital equivalent…... yah…film rules….. well film is fine….. and I’m not planning to give it up any time soon …. not while I can find funny old cameras that take it any how…..:)
