Antoine the Harbor Seal

This photo taken on Plum Island, Massachusetts, U.S. I probably never would have noticed this seal if it hadn’t been for the tracks he left in the sand. He was laying quietly in the sand among rocks of similar shape and color. When I approached to take photos, he became interested and animated, but he didn’t seem stressed or agitated. I didn’t stay long, not wanting to call attention to him, and also not wanting to affect his normal routine. (I’m saying “he”, but it could have been a “she” of course)
