Possibly might leave soon, not sure!
Hello all. Well, just received note from RB that they will no longer be sending out checks in Canadian monies as of May. So, I cannot sell here. Which is not a problem cause I don’t sell. But if I stay I have to edit all my artworks as not for sale which will be a huge pain in the butt! But anyway, am undecided as of yet. Thanks for all your support and friendship though :)

Aww BS to that nonsense grrrr. I wonder why the hell RB is doing the cut of Canada thing??? It makes no sense at all to me?? I see lots of peeps here from Canada. firt the thing with the Brits, now the Canadians? I don’t get why that is.
It must have something to do with the exchange value and such.
I would say STAY Judy, stay anyway and just do the switch litttle by little. STAY because I said so!
LOL

If I leaved it would be out of the principle of the whole idea and not because of anyone here, grrrrrrrr….Thanks and hugs! P.S. How do you send Bubblemail to group members lol. Sorry for bugging ya! hugs,

Would you please post the BM you recieved?
It’s not that I don’t believe you, it’s just that this is the first I’ve heard of this and I would like to see what they sent you.

Hello, here it is…seems to be legit.
Hello Judy,
We’ve got some news. Unfortunately it isn’t good news really. As of our next payment cycle at the start of May, we will not be able to issue checks in Euros or Canadian dollars.
We want to make it easy for us to send you money, and these checks have proved anything but. They’re expensive for both us and you, take a long time to get the money in your account, and more often than you would expect they get lost in the mail.
You can sign up for a PayPal account here and change your payment preference in your account settings. This will enable us to transfer your earnings quicker and more reliably – and the payment threshold for making a transfer is much lower than a check (the threshold is about EUR20 or CAD25).
In the future we have planned to sort out more ways to pay you, but in the mean time the best option is to grab yourself a paypal account and switch over your RedBubble account to use this.
We appreciate your understanding.
Uncle Artmonger
Wow, and who was it that sent this to you?
BTW, thanks for posting that.

Judy, you can open a bank account in canada in US funds. Then you receive your cheques in US funds. It’s not that big of a problem. I have a bank account in US funds and American Mastercard both of which I use primarily for my internet sales which come from a variety of sites, but almost all are in American funds.
I absolutely refuse to use paypal…I notice they have said anything about american cheques…do you suppose that’s next?

Ok yes this is a good idea but at this point in time I do not have enough money to open another bank account. Also, I do not and cannot have credit cards (just as an aside) thanks though. I do not think that they will stop American cheques. Even though RB is based in Australia I think.

um, that should say “haven’t said”

I think I opened my US account with about $25. You could try asking around the different banks…it doesn’t cost me anything to have the account. We have a “service plan” that covers all our accounts at our bank and the fees (one monthly fee that covers all charges for all accounts) come out of our regular chequeing account so the US account just sits there til my payments come in every month. Then I transfer much of it to my Canadian account. If I’d made a purchase on my US mastercard I pay that out of the US account.
It can’t hurt to ask at your bank and just get some info for consideration. I use BofM for the US stuff. We’ve got accounts at a couple of banks, but they’ve been the most helpful with US stuff.
