Blak cat

OK,so this is no masterpiece.I just got my new toy-afisheye.By the time i got it,it was dark outside, but i couldnt wait to try it,so here goes this one and maybe one more.
The place is my local kiosk .open all night long, the owner and his black cat.

You say not a masterpiece but not everone pulls off images like this….I reckon it is stunning…......glad it was not too hot to use the ‘ole fish eye’......

  • JudyBJ

JudyBJ in reply to Maxhamish’s comment, 4 months ago

It was hot enough for me not to go to my friend to pick it up,so by the time i finaly did,it was evening and dark outside ,so out came the flash that i hate (luck for the great diffuser),and that’s the result. At least i know now that the lens is very sharp,so i’m pleased

I think it’s a fantastic image! I looked at it longer than I often do other photographs, theres so much happening in it – really happy. The cat’s face is the obvious thing to comment on but I actually really keep getting drawn back to the owner in his funky hat! Love it.

This shot on its own justifies the acquisition of your fish-eye lens! Jaw-droppingly good. Puss thinks, how could you do this to me, I’ll come and haunt your dreams- but we really now he is a very handsome fellow.

That puss is a female and a halfgrown kitty. The guy tought her to walk on a leash and they go walking togather with a big black dog ,he also ownes -they so funny. This coment of yours made ma laugh and made my day :)

What a great shot judy! The big wide eyes of the cat in the center of the wrap-around works so well…judging by her expression maybe she saw the ‘fish’ in your fish-eye! ;)

Using the F-E in this way to caricature your subjects is fun and is producing some interesting images.

Thanks Matt -i can tell you that she didnt much enjoy this shot and i was worried a bit, because she kept pushing her little nose toward the camera -i dont think my lens would have enjoyed that :)

    Canon Fisheye EF 15mm f/2.8
I didnt think i should spend more on a trick lens and i’m very happy with it.It’s also great for low light

  • JudyBJ

JudyBJ in reply to Peter Davidson’s comment, 4 months ago

Well, that’s the classic use,but FE has much more potential . Your mind needs to get used to thinking fisheye

Interesting, I have not decided how much fish eye effect I want yet so that helps.
Yeah fish eye is exciting. It’s a bit to me like IMAX films, the .3D effect is expected in landscape, but really, intimity and small spaced are even better suited, That’s how I think of fish eye, brilliant for experimentation :))
