  • His expression didn’t change the entire time I was out on the ice. I think he was frozen. Thanks.

That looks dangerous even though the ice he is sitting on is probably 6 inches thick !, fantastic shot

  • Not too dangerous. While 1.5 inches is enough to walk on, this was around a foot thick. In a few more weeks it will be 4ft thick. It was a blast, yet cold, being out on the ice for two days of shooting. Tons of pics. Thanks for the compliment too.

I want a new bet… I bet you… we get less Pneumonia than you ;-) Great work, Joe. Love these ice fisher people shots!

  • lol, the pneumonia is good for business though. Oh, it was -20ºf without accounting for the wind. then it’s -29ºf. Cacacacaoold. Thanks.

Im sorry to report it only went down to zero last night. Windchill? Whatever… After your nose falls off and your sinus shatter it doesnt matter what the windchill is.

  • lol your so right! Just hurts walking out there. I cannot fathom what these people see in fishing in that weather. It was difficult shooting too. The viewfinder would fog up as soon as my eye got next to it. Switching lenses was next to impossible w/ the blowing snow. Not to mention not wanting to take my mitts off to snap a pic.

Are you saying your eyes are hot? I was out there doing the ice fishing shots. I had an urgent THING to do and you know, I just couldnt get back there but SO wanted to NOT

  • Yeah, well, it was an experience and if I’m gonna live in this area and want pics, I gotta get use to it.
