My very first effort at HDR. (Really, and boy, did I get lucky!) I had sweaty palms and was so nervous trying to remember the setting to make the bracketed exposures. It looked so amazing standing there and I was praying so hard that it would turn out.

New condos w/ enclosed docks for boats w/ “garage” doors. The winters here in upstate NY are very harsh (brutal is a common description) and all the boats have to be lifted out of the water because it completely freezes, many feet thick. These are brand new condo’s, none are occupied yet, and I believe each boat “garage” has a lift inside.

Alexandria Bay, upstate NY, USA. October, 2010

this is outstanding work!! I’m having a little trouble figuring out why garage doors are facing water. Could you give me a little hint about this image? lol.
