My Spine; Your Spine
My Spine; Your Spine belongs to the following groups:
All Things Poetic, Artistic, Philosophical, Melbourne & Victoria, The Word Tree and WMGMy back
curled; it
was a
Downward Spiral;
Shoulders slumped
to the hip.
My spine:
it imitated
Your lip
As you
watched me,
Dejected Wreck,
gulp in
my neck,
and
fumble with
my fork
and a champignon.
It’s Easy
with a
Spine like Mine
to stand
beside me
And build
yourself a
Fortress; a
straightened mould
of I
of My
of Ivory
and
Ice.
My spine,
My Pathos
visited your
town and
gave you
Temporary Protection
from your
World of
receiving Judgement
and Rejection.
And in
this sense,
my Dear,
Your Spine
is
No Straighter
nor
Stronger than
Mine.

Wow Jessica this is a brilliant, beautiful and powerful poem. I love the form and how it flows to heightened crescendo. Nice to see you friend :)

Thanks so much, I did not think of the ending as heightened crescendo but now that i read it again, I think it does do that. I love it when these things fall together almost by accident! It is nice to see you too, I am glad you are still drawing and writing:)
