Lake George & the St. Johns River.
23 August 2006.
Most certainly one of my favorites of Florida’s birds, the white ibis is often seen prowling the shores of central Floridian rivers, lakes, and streams. Ever prowling and rooting about for a snack, the awkward bird is a near-constant landmark whenever you are near the water. They often flock together and will suddenly take to flight as a single mass when threatened.
