Egretta tricolor

Tricolor heron.
Egretta tricolor.
Palm Island Park; Mt. Dora, Florida.

A tricolor heron chills out near the shore of Lake Dora at Palm Island Park. The Floridian peninsula is dominated by birds year round. Of all the bird species that populate the region, I do believe I most love the herons and egrets. They are simply fascinating to watch. Such beauty in their awkward stance.

I love the tricolor herons. Some of them absolutely radiate blue. They can actually be more blue than their relative, the little blue heron…! Maybe it’s the contrast of the yellow face and legs?

    Many thanks to ya, again!

Another fantastic bird capture. I do believe you have a “water birds of Florida” book in the making here.
