Broadway Shows, Manhattan, New York by

acrylic on Canvas 18 × 22

Born in 1943 in Saratoga Springs, New York, Simone survived both the stinging winters of this small Adirondack mountain town and the absence of any grand opportunities.
In the mid 2000’s and most recently, Simone has turned to paying “homage” to the old master artists, especially Johannes Vermeer, by creating a body of work that pays tribute to this master’s skills of light, position, balance, color and theme.

Thanks again for your looks…I love the city because it brings me to New York and my state and it is the great combination of people and pulses the streets talk and the building come alive and the cars and traffic march and beat and drum and play music and the breathing takes place at every stop and cross walk. The entire city is like the alien force that circles and dives and hugs and controls you. Once inside, it has you….
