A Dyke Looks in the Mirror

When a dyke looks in the mirror:

Age 3: Looks at herself and sees a Prince!

Age 8: Looks at herself and thinks she could awaken Cinderella/Sleeping beauty with a kiss.

Age 15: Looks at herself and sees herself as a valiant/ peaceful/virile/athelete/prince or if she is PMS’ing sees herself as weird/out-of-place/different than other “girls.” (thinks “Mom, I can’t go to school being like this!”)

Age 20: Looks at herself and sees "too manly/too conventional, too obvious/too different She’s got to go out sometime so might as well start now.

Age 30: Looks at herself and sees “too fat/too thin, too caught up in women/ too caught up in pleasing society & the church” but decided she doesn’t have time to fix it so she’s going anyway.

Age 40: Looks at herself and says "too fat/too thin, too butch/ too much of a psychophant but says, “At least I’m clean and don’t do drugs.” And goes anyway.

Age 50: Looks at herself and sees “I AM” and goes wherever she wants on her Harley Davidson motorcycle.

Age 60: Looks at herself and reminds herself of all the people who can’t even see themselves in the mirror anymore. Goes out and conquers the world.

Age 70: Looks at herself and sees wisdom, laughter and ability and goes out and enjoys life.

Age 80: Doesn’t even bother to look. She knows she’s handsome and wonderful. She puts on her ballcap and goes out to have fun with the world!

oh my God……this is so sweet, so beautiful, so true.
Thank you for writing this my dear. I am quite touched by
these words and my hearat smiles~

  • LOL Thanks Shilohlin! I actually worried a bit about this one but I get tired of everyone thinking a girl or a woman has to be pink and in ribbons and lace. Gosh, just thinking about pink, ribbons and lace almost gives me the hives. I don’t deny that people like my sister and niece love them and that’s great but not me. Gosh I got on a soapbox didn’t I. Sorry.
