Serious?

Posted 9 days ago

I suppose I should be serious. I mean I’m in gardening clothes standing proudly beside my tall sunflower.

I suppose I should be serious if I want to spread the spirit of kindness, love, mercy.

Be serious now, wear serious attire, have a serious face, serious moves, serious thoughts. Is that what it takes to be seen? Yet, you see me. Hat and all, you see me and talk to me and I have never…

Redbubble Love

Posted 12 days ago

When I first found Redbubble the site was a door to my spiritual path in art. As the months have gone by I have conversed with many of you, seen your art, read your triumphs and struggles and I am deeply moved by who you are my Redbubble Friends. The story is longer about the spiritual path but I am so overwhelmed by YOU and YOUR art that I cannot express it.

The other beauty is one of self…

The Power and Challenge of a Woman

Posted 16 days ago

Out of the blue this morning I remembered my last journal entry and wondered how I could forget Mother Teresa and her strength in self-discipline and divine love. As soon as I remembered her, I thought of all the other women in history and in my life who faced (and still face) the odds set against them to make a better place in the world for others. In history, there are Saints Hildegard of Bin…

Menopausal Meditation

Posted 19 days ago

I’ve often thought that Jesus, the Buddha and all prophets must come back in the next life as as woman and then see what meditations arise. Not that women cannot meditate but there are some things omitted from spiritual literature like the havoc hormones can wreak on women (pregnant women fit this category too). Anger management at 47 is not as simple as Thich Nat Han writes. Jesus would come t…

Now

Posted 19 days ago

The questions always have seemed to be my way. Why? Where? How? I must laugh at myself since in writing this I had hoped to question less those things that don’t matter. Even now I find questions dive-bomb my mind in the simple times as well as the difficult times. Yet, just this morning I realized life is as simple as they say, carry water, feed the dogs, go to work. To focus on that simplicit…

Creative Soul

Posted 2 months ago

There have been so many years I hid my creative soul. When I lost my position as a minister (I told the truth that I am a lesbian) there was no point to be creative…or so I thought. My spirit is creative, for so long these my themes/mottos: “How can my heart keep from singing….” or ”...the one who sings prays twice.” The loss and the grief ransacked my heart and the pirate stole my femini…

Goals

Posted 2 months ago

Sometimes goals can be unreachable with the soccer net of the universe always out of reach. Then there are days when goals are in hand, in view, close enough to taste. Those are the days of living, truly living and yet, what would they be without the days of time falling through our fingers, nothing in sight but striving and experiences that leave a bad taste in our mouths.

I once ran track…

A Crumb

Posted 2 months ago

I’m allergic to wheat, rye, oats all the ingredients of most breads and especially the bread that makes up communion bread or wafers. I called my priest to ask for a pinch or rather, a crumb, so that I would stop having asthma attacks after communion.

Last night our meditation in our quiet service was written by a person who had done my partner harm. I wrote the person and asked God for guid…

Changing the Mountains

Posted 6 months ago

Each day sun rises in the east to show a different color and texture to the Plott Balsams. Seasons add colors, change the hue, the visual effect unbelievable that something so solid as mountains can be so changing from day to day, season to season. As you will notice from the photos that I add I am fascinated with both the depth and the breadth of all that the mountains offer.

Still working…
