Autumn in the Country

Just a change of pace to break up the monotony. I got started too late to get the regular story going. I just thought that you might enjoy something new.

Autumn in the Country belongs to the following groups:

! Creative Writing & Poetry !, Core [C.O.R.E], Nirvana (Only 1 photographic art and 1 written work will be accepted per day ) and The World As We See It , or as we missed it.

Wind blows softly against the trees
As the sun gently warms the air in autumn
The stream sings a welcoming melody
For the deer to come sip its chilled waters

Out in the meadows where tall grasses grow
Animals both big and small ready for winter
As the clouds roll in for an afternoon shower
Crisping the air for the night’s chill ahead

In the distance spotted houses appear
With the smells of supper and fresh baked pies
And sounds of laughter whisper in the breeze
As children dash inside to nest in the warmth

The night quietly engulfs the darkened sky
Softly lit by the stars and a full moon above
All is quiet except the hooting of owls
Bidding a goodnight to the world outside

If you have around such environ..
    it is a paradise, John.
And if you have it inside your soul,
is a fountain of peace and encounter.
For us too…having cement and more cement around.
And kneeling to see the grass sprout appearing with fierceness,
from a solitary pore of that so grey city’s skin.
    Rosa (great ..so sensible, John)

  • JRGarland replied

Many thanks Rosa. Fortunately I do live in the country. I wanted to share some of it with everyone.
