John O’Keefe-Odom has enjoyed photography for over 25 years, choosing to construct a majority of his works through the syntax of traditional black and white medium format film.
His photographic works range from cyanotype to color digital. Print sizes vary from about two inches square to photo murals 24X30”. His darkroom techniques include optical duplication with orthochromatic interpositives and variable contrast printing. He enjoys making his own hydroquinone film developers from scratch.
He prefers timeless subjects. Some of his favorite photographs feature: the elegance of botanicals, the complexity of forested landscape, the power of natural bodies of water and people as occupants among manmade structures.
