The Tsalala pride with 3 adult lionesses(Panthera leo),2 sub adult females and a single 3-4 month old cub were relaxing and playing under a tree near londolozi in the early morning. The Majingilane coalition of 4 males then showed up and lay down across a sand road and 2-300 metres from the Tsalala pride. The tsalala pride then approached the males very slowly with the original tailless lioness leading the way and her son eagerly following and the 2 sub adult females going very slowly .The male cub was not threatened as all the males mated with his mom ,but there was considerable concern with the 2 sub adults because not all 4 males mated with their mom and they were very anxious but very cuddly with each other as they got closer to the males. The male cub actually made the first approach and came right up to his father who let the cub jump all over him and was very tolerant of the cubs antics.Fortunately the males tolerated the 2 sub adults although they kept their distance from the males ,but on that day the little cub was the hero and no incidents ocurred!!
