Artist's Description

This is the Tamboti female leopard (Panthera pardus)sitting in a classic leopard pose after just hoisting a fresh impala kill a little higher in the tree.Leopards usually take their kills up into a tree to keep other predators from steeling their kills particularly hyenas. At the present time hyena numbers are down in the Sabi Sands so some of the leopards are hiding their kills on the ground more often. The hyena numbers are slowly increasing again so leopards will re-adapt.
