Anclote eaglet-I have grown into a big bird already! by

The 2 juvenile bald eagles on the anclote river are now around 10 -11 weeks old and are very big birds, already much larger than Ospreys. They are flying very clumsily and don`t venture too far from the nest always waiting for their parents to bring food, usually a fish.It is fascinating how quicklyt he adults fly in ,usually low and don`t hover with the fish like Ospreys, just fly in low and drop the fish on the nest. The 2 juveniles then rush to the nest and eat one at a time.

I am an amateur photographer and mostly photograph wildlife and have a special love for WILD big cats and birds.I am self taught and have never attended a course in photography.I exclusively photograph animals in the WILD which is always challenging! I use only canon equipment and now have 7d , t3i,and power shot 40 sx hs camera`s and use canon 28-135 mm,70-200mm f 2.8 ,100-400mm f 5.6,and 500mm f/4 lenses.

Oh my goodness what a wonderful capture and you are right “big bird”

  • Thanks,Ciana,it is amazing to watch these eagles grow over the last 2 months,so much more fun seeking these wildlife scenes out than going to a zoo for a posed photo !!
