I took this a week ago while I was visiting the land of my birth-Ireland. taken at Ulster Folk park, Co Omagh.
There are just a few traditional blacksmiths left in Ireland, and I marvelled as I watched him use the forge. Its over 100 years old.
As we chatted, I was told the story of his early days as an apprentice. “Nothing much has changed”, He said, as he drank from his bottle of water.
In a few years there will be no traditional blacksmiths left. I feel very privileged to be able to catch James at work.
