Many of the old ways and traditions have faded away as time passes. But I came across this lady still making cloths the traditional way. She first dyes the wool using dyes made from tea, plants and roots, grown in her Garden. here she is spinning the wool on a spinning wheel that is 130 years old.
After spinning the wool its ready for weaving or knitting into socks, scarfs, shawls and Sweaters.
I am a proud owner of a Arron Sweater that is 22 years old. The quality is excellent and its never faded in Color.
In rural and remote parts of Ireland The traditional crafts are still used, although its decreasing as the older generation fades away.
