Many of the old ways and traditions have faded away as time passes. But I came across this lady still making cloths the traditional way. She first dyes the wool using dyes made from tea, plants and roots, grown in her Garden. here she is spinning the wool on a spinning wheel that is 130 years old.

After spinning the wool its ready for weaving or knitting into socks, scarfs, shawls and Sweaters.

I am a proud owner of a Arron Sweater that is 22 years old. The quality is excellent and its never faded in Color.
In rural and remote parts of Ireland The traditional crafts are still used, although its decreasing as the older generation fades away.

I love photography and people, lifestyles and cultures inspire and create a passion to capture special moments like this one.

  • Jessica, Thank you for featuring my art in Colorful Portrait photography. I really am encouraged. God Bless you my dear friend as he has promised. I pray that 2011 will be your season to experience all Gods love, Provisions and richest blessings. I was meditating a few days ago and this came to me. “ITS NOT WHAT THIS YEAR HOLDS IN STORE FOR US THAT MATTERS, BUT ITS WHAT WE BRING INTO IT THAT COUNTS”.
