Taken Early morning in remote Tunga/Zuga village. Nigeria.
I woke up and climbed out of the landcruser that I slept in just outside the village. As I was walking around the village, I looked at the little children walking around and my heart was deeply moved with compassion as I saw some with no cloths, sandals and with bloated bellies. Others were coughing and one child was vomiting behind a hut. this was still early morning. the smell of Diarrhea mixed with burning wood from a small fire burning in the center of the village filled the air,
I began to pray that God would help me and Philadelphia Mission to reach these children with much needed help.
Then I noticed this child standing against a wooden fence gazing to the sky. from a distance I watched her and took this image with a Sigma 50-500 HSM telephoto lens. I wondered how she would be as she faced life here with extreme poverty and no education.
+*I thought, God, What If?
What If we could make it possible to give these children an education, to pay their school fees and purchases text books and even pay for a teacher.
What If we could give them cloths and sandals to wear so the sun would not crack their skin, and that they would have some protection against mosquitoes.
What if we could provide clean water for them to drink so that the dirty river water would not take away their eyesight, and prevent them dying in agony from Intestinal worm infection.
What If we could show them we loved them and cared to help them grow food and give them tools.
What if we could save even one child’s life and help that child through education to be a nurse, doctor, or whatever they wanted to be+*.
From that day, God birthed a vision in my heart and told me I alone cannot do this, but that God will bring others to Pray, guide and give to help the Poor. I am inspired Motivated and filled with passion to help as many as I can.
God has and is doing just that right now. Please Sow a seed today into a childs life here in remote villages in Africa. If you cannot donate, please Pray and share our work with others. Together we can do more than just put a smile of a sad child’s face, we can create opportunities and enable them to live life to the full and be a blessing to others who are suffering. Pray and believe God That he will continue to strengthen me and Philadelphia mission Charity as we reach out to these precious little ones. They have no Welfare, Schools, health care and very little hope.
