Ajeeta is 12 years old and is the daughter of a gypsy king.

I have been on mission to India several times and in 2009, I returned at the request of Indian new life Gypsy mission Church. There I met many Indian gypsies including Ajeeta.

  • I will never forget this special moment when I saw Ajeeta. She is a very beautiful child, but behind her smile there is pain and sadness. She lives in extreme poverty in a gypsy camp, no education and often hungry. Ajeeta has been abused, beaten and knows little about playing and having fun. She works from sunrise to sunset making and selling Bracelets and necklaces to help support her family*.
Ajeeta’s condition and that of the other gypsy children motivated and inspired to do what I can through Philadelphia Mission charity to help.

I spent many hours ministering and researching into their terrible treatment by Society. Under Hindu religion, these gypsies are treated as Low caste. In one main camp I spent several days with them. They had no latrines, no clean water, owned no land, and were denied Excess to health care. *None of the girls ever went to school, and very few boys. Those that did were often scorned and chased away.

Philadelphia Mission Charity is now raising funds to help these precious gypsies. All the camps I visited are Christian, which adds even more to their discrimination by society.

Please help us to provide Mosquito nets, Lifestraw water filters, and clothing. multi vitamins and also donations needed for the Indian new life gypsy orphanage. If you cannot donate, Please Pray.

as an ex-resident of India, this is beautiful, tragic, but beautiful, amazing that after all these decades, people are now starting to take notice, of the untouchables and many other forgotten castes, which are nothing more or less, than tribes of people, trying to survive, on a day by day basis. ….beautiful capture of reality jt2…

Your words as well as the photo are reminders that far too much degradation of humans still exist. India is a gorgeous country, but the caste system is deplorable to say the least.
