Clare comes from a Poverty family in a poor village in Kebbe State. Nigeria. Because her mother could not afford a uniform or school fees £70=$120, Clare cannot go to school with her friends.
I watched as she tsood for a long time, watching some of her friends go into school. It really was very sad and a moment I will never forget.
It is here in remote villages I and the Charity work to help these precious extreme poor children. Please support us.

Hello Tess. Yes in many patts of Africa they have to. In this part of Uganda, They won’y ley children go to school unless they have a uniform. School fees is compulary in most parts of Africa. In a few schools, the teacher may not be so strict. but Govenment officials are. In many cases the teacher does not get paid on time, adn they to have children to raise up. I get it so hard to come to terms with these regulations, as many many thousnads of children doi not get an education becasue they family cannot afford to pay. Its the same with medicines. Often the treatment is free, but the medicines are not.
We in the western world have it so easy. Yet many children do not take advantage of free education and medical care. They often take it all foregranted..

A very good capture, a really good story telling photo….
..her expressions in face and body, watching the other children by the corner of the house, how sad and disappointed she must be/feel. What is more sad is that she is not the only one.
