Ungwa/Fadda Village is very remote and many children here are disabled by Rickets. rickets is a disease that causes limbs to bow and leaves the child with chronic pain.

Here you see Leah praying to God before she starts her daily task of caring for her younger brother and sister, John and Sarah.
Her father died shortly after our last visit in December 2007. Mother is sick.

James 1:27 Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world.

In the midst of so much suffering, Jesus is always there to comfort, heal and strengthen. Like me, Leah draws strength and peace from her heavenly Father as She talks to him in Jesus name. There is no greater Love, or deeper heart of compassion than Gods heart toward all people, regardless of their Race, Color or background. To me He is my reason for living and my inspiration to help those in need.

This is why I and the small team of unpaid volunteers work around the clock to help children like Leah and her family.

This photo was submitted to the group Photography 101. I like it alot ,however, the group guidelines ask for an explanation in your description about the photography aspects of the work. Can you please give more detail about your camera, lens, settings, what photography techniques you used, etc? If this is not added to your description, I will be forced to reject your photo. Please remember its not a personal thing, but we would liek this group to be a learning group for others. You can resubmit it at any time with the forementioned changes! Thank you!

Trevor, what always hits me is that these people are so poor, yet the children are always clean, groomed and dressed in fabulous fabric, they must be proud people, God Bless them.

This is a gorgeous photo. Such a picture of waiting on the Lord, with dignity. I did some work for a Missions organization that worked with the “Pokot” tribe. Have you ever heard of the Pokot?

Here’s a link to the work.

    Keep shining for Christ!

This is a fabulous photo showing wonderful attentive emotion in her eyes. I love the small details like the pierced ears, bangles and her braided hair … everything a little girls wants to make her pretty … but yet they have so little.
    Really lovely : )
God Bless You from Cape Town
