I have visited this lake many times before, at various times of the day and during all four seasons. I have been here so often I thought I had seen all the changing moods the area had to offer. But this particular morning was different. So peaceful and still yet, at the same time, so energising. The water was like glass and as the sunlight broke through the clouds, the morning mist developed a warm glow that made everything look different. So different that I felt I had never been here before.

So simple and lovely,,and always hard to capture mist isnt it Jordy!

  • Hey Husky, many thanks for your kind words and great to meet you too :)
You are right about the mist, it took about 1/2 hour to get this one. With the density of the mist and the light continually changing I just had to wait for the right moment.

So beautifully captured. I love the description of how you came upon this. I know what you mean about thinking you’ve seen an area over and over and yet somehow something new can still arise … There’s such a great feel to this pic … the essence of what you must have felt has been captured and passed along …

  • Thank you so much Betsy. The more time I spend with my camera, the more I am reminded of what is important in life. And this particular morning was one of those times that I realised it’s not ‘what’ we see that matters, but ‘how’ we see it. I am discovering that if I allow myself to be ‘in’ the moment, I have the opportunity to experience, as you say, ‘the essence’ of the moment. Having you being able to relate to this and taking the time to convey your thoughts and feelings is so appreciated. Again, thank you……… and thanks for the fav too :)
