A Helping Hand - getting the tarot series printed

Hello again dear bubblers – it’s been quite a while since I wrote to you all. Hopefully most of you have been following my updates on my blog or FB page. If so, you’ll already know all about my Tarot Deck. If not, allow me to enlighten you!

Being a poor little freelance illustrator it’s next to impossible for me to raise funds to realize this dream – my very own custom Tarot Deck in full living tactile glory. Which is where IndieGoGo comes in. I’ve launched an appeal to raise the production costs and anyone can donate, any way they like! But we all like something for our money, so IndiGoGo is also acting as an informal pre-order system. For a $30 donation you receive your own deck delivered to you for free – no postage/handling! So it works out c…

Archibald Prize 2009

After reading Bec Winnel’s journal entry about her blog post regarding the Archibald – I had a look at the finalists and also took in some of the news surrounding it.

And since I’ve started seriously writing in my blog – I thought I’d put in a small article: http://theartofjordan.blogspot.com

I’ve decided recently to focus on my illustration and particularly on my t-shirt designs (which you may already have read in one of my previous journal entries). As part of that I wanted to put a cracker up the arse of my miserable little blog – but I don’t want to waffle on about my own work (I think you’d all fall asleep). So my idea for the blog is to write articles and posts in the areas of Art, Design and Style. So any news and reviews relate…

Be my Fan, pleez?

Joining in on all the fun I’ve created a Fan Page for my t-shirts over at Facebook. It’s all in an effort to showcase my new t-shirt designs – so be my fan! http://www.facebook.com/pages/Jordan-Clarke/69937361132#/pages/Jordan-Clarke/69937361132?ref=mf

At the moment I’m putting the finishing touches on my first ‘collection’ of t-shirts – to be officially launched soon. I’ve decided to focus on my tee designs (and illustration too) and create collections every few months. Each collection will be photographed so everyone can see the tees in real life, and to make it more fun I’m theming each shoot. Coming up (very, very soon!) will be my first collections. Think tattoo tees, black lame leggings, smoky eyes, ray-bans and soft, pink and ye…

"Sound" Challenge

Well, it’s getting down to the finishing line for submissions into the RedBubble/Demo Store tee comp. I’m only just getting around to starting my entry! But since I’m going for a Rockabilly/Tattoo style design – I’m hoping I can pull it off in one or two days like a bonafide tattooist.

I’m looking forward to seeing all the entries from the people I follow – I’ve got to the point where I can recognise individual styles before I see the name of the artist. With only a few days left I am anticipating the entries from my favorite people – which tend to come in right at the end.

At this stage, I won’t be short listing my favorites until closer to the date when more are added. All I can say is that with a theme like sound it’s go…

High Priestess

I’m not uploading this piece as yet (only the Fool atm). I’ve got to create a custom border to frame all the cards, so once that’s done I’ll upload this into my gallery/portfolio. I did this differently original and it was ok, but I’m so nit-picky that I reworked it last night (when I should have been asleep!). So here’s a peak at how it’s looking so far…

Freelance Illustrators/Designers group

I’ve noticed (or possibly failed to find) there is no group for freelance illustrators or designers. I’ve been thinking that it would really useful to create one where all the freelancers can exchange ideas and advice, share their work, get feedback and generally have a whinge about being poor and how to answer those pesky questions about when we’re getting a ‘real’ job. I’d like to see it as invitation only possibly – to make sure that only genuine freelancers join.

Would anyone be interested in that sort of thing? If so, let me know and we can submit to create a group (need at least one other person to host).

Oh & P.S I’ve updated my website and added a link to my refurbed blog – head along and become a follower! I’ve only …
