I visited the site of the Chernobyl nuclear disaster in October 2011. When there, it took me a long time to take photographs, and afterwards it’s taken me a long time to come back to these images to look at them again. It was a deeply profound experience. All the facts are here.
This is within the Zone of Alienation; the kindergarten.
A photograph is a trace of its subject. The viewer and the image belong to each other. Capturing these traces is a passion, an obsession for me. I hope the thrill comes through in my images.
