In this photo I talked about the village of Marieholm and it’s past. This photo is in another side of the old village when the whole place was just a very big industrial complex back in the nineteenth century.
So, what you see is basically the ruins of an old complex of many dams in a stream (the Skärvån river) that ruins from Skärvsjö lake to Mosjön lake in wich the modern Marieholm village was built by which were used for various purposes: Electricity generation, Iron extraction, motion power to the mills of the iron industry, etc. Today the place can be visited in its totality on a 3km path with plenty of information for the visitors.
