This is a part of the “Marieholms Bruk”, the last iron factory to be built in the Småland region in Sweden. Taking advantage of the local geography (a sharp hill and a small river that runs the hill all the way from the top to the bottom) Mr. Anders Wingård made this project came true in 1836 in a place where there was only woods at that time. Soon after this Mr. Anders got problems and went bankrupt being forced to seel the factory to the Collén family that built a farm and other facilities in the same place at the same time that improved the factory and added other activities to it such as a sawmill and carpentry. In 1958 this same factory started to manufacture plastic boats but later on in 1987 this activity ended due to many factors.

Today there is a village in this place and the old factory complex still exists but nowadays as a show room, business hotel, museum, chruch among others. The place can also be visited by boat from a more central village called Hillerstorp near train and main national road.

    A lovely view
    Good camera work !!!

  • The small red barn on the right got a bit twisted but still it was a lot of work. It made me realize how hard it is to make panoramas with more than 3 photos. It demands a lot of planing and perfect photos both in focus and the position of where I take the shot from. Thanks a lot for the nice words!
