This HDR was taken on the top of the city walls in a very hot day. Valença is an historical city of Portugal that stands in the northern border with Spain on the south side of the river Minho. A first castle was built in the XIII century and was increased and fortified along the years. Today the city grew out of the walls with it’s modern buildings and caotic traffic, but what’s inside is a wonderful old town filled with medieval streets, churches, houses and of course, thousands of spanish tourists that come for the cheap food, clothes and beauty of the place.
A place filled with history and life. Many thousands died here in defense of a nation during nearly 900 years of independence… Definately a place worth to be visited.
