A road sign that shows the political/economical situation of the two big economical blocks in Europe, after the last EU leaders meeting in 2011.

Did you hold it in Mirror ?
    UK is LEFT..! lol
And the EU is going DOWN…!!!
    Cheers, Joäo

  • Janone, I’m a pure federalist! You say that EU is going down? Well, I don’t believe in you, but if that happens you can be sure that Germany will invade you again! You more than anybody in Europe should be happy about EU… Any way, politics aside, this is just a “caricature” of these modern times… Thanks for passing by and leaving a comment! :)

    I did – good one! :)
Do you get much revenue from that stock site? Is it worth joining?

  • Well… difine “much”. In 3 years I got paid 67€ (way much more than RB that gave mo a big 0). If you have plenty of free time and patience (especially patience) I would advise you to join. Stock photography websites are not like print on demand websites. They have people/computer software deciding if your images are good or not. The slightiest flaw and the image gets rejected. In 3 years I have submited more than 1000 shots into Fotolia and they only accepted 103. Plus, you have to choose wisely your keywords (images can also be rejected due to bad keywords) and categories (images can also be rejected due to bad categories). If you want to join stock photography world, first, choose wisely wich site to join (for instance, istockphoto.com is really popular but has extremely hard rules – if one or more of your shots get’s rejected you can’t submit any more during a whole month, plus they are really meticulous) but they sell a lot. Fotolia are /- in the middle, they sell very good and they are +/- very meticulous but they have no restrictions in the ammount of files you submit. Then you have sites like Bigstock for instance where they have low criteria but also have stupid criteria: almost anything is accepted but if you submit a shot with a shop sign saying “open” they will refuse the image due to possible infrigement of logo copywriting, and so on. Besides, their sales are really low. I’m only in Bigstock and Canstock until I fill the criteria to get my money and them I’m closing my accounts. Pure waste of time! Basicaly, from the ones I am in, only Fotolia (by far the best), 123RF and Dreamstime are somewhat compensating my time and effort. The issue here is that I don’t have a lot of time to submit and therefore it is taking forever to get a portfolio of medium size (like 500 pics) in order to get money into my bank account like every two months or so. Besides, my kind of photography is harder to sell because those websites are specialized in stock photographyphotography (make a google images search of Stock Photography to understand this better) and I am not the kind of guy who really likes doing stock photography. So, that will be another factor that will be reducing my sales. Besides, you will get (like I did and so many others do) so many rejected images due to basically nothing that will make you go mad due to they are your masterpieces… But again, they are not art selling site, they are stock photography, they aim for the 200% perfection, manufactured images… Let me know if you need forward advise! Hope I have helped!
