Armillaria Mellea is the scientific name of this mushroom as well known as “Honey mushroom” due to their sweet taste. They are edible but some people may be intolerant to them.

However sweet and edible, they are a desease and a plague, and they act as tree parasites. In any tree that they are born, they feed of it and very easily and quickly multiply themselves. The final result is the death of the tree.

Coming from Portugal, established in Sweden since 2010. “I tell what I see, I see what I tell.”

Self tought. I am still learning, I allways will be! Landscapes and nature were, are and allways will be my favourite thing to shoot. Other motifs? Yeah, they will come as well…

Great image of the largest known fungi community in the world. This species leaves me wishing for death if I eat…lol Too bad it DOES taste so good.

  • I have never tasted them despite here in Sweden mushrooms are very very apreciated… Here they eat more other mushroms, but I’m starting to get moe and more curious… Thank you so much for the feature, it feels good!! :)

awesome shot, interesting.. I wonder if they would grow back if you picked them all to eat, my guess yup!

  • That’s a very interesting question! I have no clue… Maybe you feel like trying?? I’m not such a big fan of mushrooms as food, I prefer to shoot them! Thanks for the nice comment and visit!! :)

Congratulations! Your beautiful image was voted into the Top10 of the To many to count fungi challenge Kind regards, Esther.

  • AAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHH…. I feel so frustrated… I was almost there!!… But at the same time I’m happy due to I finally broke the 7 votes barrier that I have had already in 6 challenges, and that was just not good. Thank’s so much for this feature!!! :)
