Two boats moored up at Yelland Quay which is in North Devon near Barnstaple and Bideford. For this image i focus stacked three images in order to get a great depth of field which allowed me to get sharp details from close up to the horizon.

The boats in the photograph are abandoned and have not been moved in a few years, the main hulk of the boats are now rusting away quite badly, there barnacles and other crutaceans now attached to it, it is quite a sight.

This area has been prone to boats which end up lying on the sands for years and eventually rusting away. There was one incident last year where a wreck was not moored up and it took float on a high tide and ended up floating down the River Taw towards Barnstaple, the name of that boat was ‘Severn Sands’ in the end it got towed to where the boat is at Yelland Quay, it was cut up and scrapped.
