I was up for my first dawn in a very long time last weekend, as we approach summer here, that means a 4.30 start as the sun is well and truly up by 5.30.
As has been the case for many weeks there were only clear skies but at least the full moon was scheduled to set at 5.40 so there was a chance of a colourful end to the night so I dragged Danielle from her pit and we headed to the coast.
Danielle had done some research and found an unusual outcrop of rocks that she wanted to investigate so we strolled along the beach and spotted a few unusual forms along the way….This one I named “Emmentaler” for the obvious reason. apart from this shot with the fading moon in the middle…we both had nothing…other than a dawn spent with my daughter !!…….
I have looked at this image for the past week thinking do I…don’t I…and then I read about the latest version of Photomatix Pro 4..thought I would see what it could do and I must admit…. a very impressive processing tool now..far easier to use and very flexible..well worth checking out. I think the main point being, I wouldn’t have posted this without that programme, other than an unusual rock..it had nothing, Photomatix at least gave me something !!.
