Second shot from Bennion Beach last night…
What was such a lush green moss growing over this coastline until recently has faded into a white frosting.
Finally….a gentle Easterly blows offshore as the late afternoon sun burns through the overcast day to end in a blaze of colour……Beautiful…!
Taken at “The Rock”, Bennion Beach, Perth’s Northern Suburbs, Western Australia.

With this shot, I decided to try a bracketed set of images to lift the now dulling foreground yet keep the intensity in the sky, I couldn’t achieve this with the use of filters alone so I set the camera to take 1 normally exposed shot, followed by 2 further shots set at 1/3 of a stop under and over exposed, then blended in photomatix pro. I’m always very concious of over-doing High Dynamic Range images so I always try to ‘Calm them down’ to just lift the foreground and darken the sky, being careful not to blow out the highlights anywhere or get the ‘Halo effect’.
Then back into lightroom 3 again to reduce the noise, sharpen and crop….and here you go..:))
