Been itching to get out and shoot again but conditions have not been right for the last few days…
Today looked like it was going to turn into a belter but as the evening drew nearer…so the cloud fell away to the south leaving the sun to set in clear blue skies.
Decided to take a trip up to Yanchep lagoon about an hour North of Perth and see what developed..the recent storm had clear much of the sand away from the usually low lying rocks and created lots of channels in the sand around them and although the swell was up (full moon) it was a nice enough day to get soaked !!!!

How do you do that? I’ve never seen Yanchep look so orange?
The first thing I do when processing is white balance adjustment and vibrance in light room..this time of night the water looks very blue..too blue so I always warm the image up which exaggerates the sky tones..then a little vibrance to bring out the richness of the oranges and blues and then raise the contrast a little to show the details..this also helps to richen up the colours and voilà !!
