Worn Wooly Jumper

Out in the cold, it kept me warm.
A pillow under my head, away from home.

On the grass, in the field,
With my lover for a picnic meal.

Sewn up holes to extend it’s life.
Losing it would cut like a knife.

Security blanket, home and away.
Year after year, day after day.

I’m glad I bought it, so long ago.
It’s been worth every penny,
Don’t ya know.

Worn Wooly Jumper by

I haven’t written a poem in too many years.
We were on our way home from a 3 day camp out, music fest
and I wrote this in the car, as a tribute to my jumper.

Note: The Irish, English and Aussies refer to a sweater, as a jumper.

We enjoyed a large variety: Amy Winehouse, the Verve, HOT CHIP, The Ting Tings, Racentours (Jack White) , MGMT, Republic of Loose were among my favorites.
